Kanaga House
Bed and Breakfast is in the heart of Central
Pennsylvania Tourist Region making your stay convenient to visiting Gettysburg,
Carlisle, Harrisburg, Hershey and Lancaster.
Awake with the smell of coffee. After being served
a full county breakfast, travel EAST eight miles to
Harrisburg to visit the National
Civil War Museum. Hershey is another eleven miles. Travel
a half-hour from Hershey and you are in the Amish country in
Lancaster. Travel WEST and Carlisle is only
minutes away. Gettysburg is another half-hour.
Fly fishing streams, such
as Yellow Breeches and Letort Springs Run, are very
close by. The historic village of Boiling Springs
has a catch and release for trout. Walk around the
lake and you are on the Appalachian Trail. If you
like the winter sports, Ski Roundtop is 16 miles.
Fourteen covered bridges in Perry County (a few miles
North of Kanaga House) makes a wonderful one day tour.

Kanaga House with the
beautiful grounds and gazebo is an ideal wedding site.
Day business meetings with lunch are also very popular. We do not
have an open restaurant but do in-house catering for
weddings, parties and business meetings.

In 1775 Joseph Junkin built the original part of the house.
Joseph Kanaga(Kenege) bought the property in 1805 and his
grandson Henry in 1870 extended the west side of the
house, adding the dormers, frame wing and gazebo. Mary Jane and
Don Kretzing purchased the property in 1969. In
1991, they opened the bed and breakfast. It is
now operated by David Kretzing, President of Kanaga
House Bed and Breakfast, Inc. |
