Kanaga House Bed and Breakfast is in the heart of Central Pennsylvania Tourist Region making your stay convenient to visiting Gettysburg, Carlisle, Harrisburg, Hershey and Lancaster.

In 1775 Joseph Junkin built the original part of the house.  Joseph Kanaga(Kenege) bought the  property in 1805 and his grandson Henry in 1870 extended the west side of the house, adding the  dormers, frame wing and gazebo. Mary Jane and Don  Kretzing purchased the property in 1969. In 1989, they opened the bed and breakfast.  It is now operated by their son, Dave Kretzing, current President of Kanaga House Bed and Breakfast, Inc.

Kanaga House with the beautiful grounds and gazebo is an ideal wedding site.  Day business meetings with lunch are also very popular. We do not have an open  restaurant but do in-house catering for weddings, parties and business meetings.

When staying with us, awake with the smell of coffee and a full county breakfast! Kanaga House is centrally located to many of Central Pennsylvania's area attractions. Harrisburg and Carlisle are less than a fifteen minute drive. Hershey is only a half-hour away. Amish country, Lancaster County and the Gettysburg Battlefields are only a scenic forty-five minute drive as well.

Fly fishing streams, such as Yellow Breeches and Letort Springs Run, are very close by. The historic village of Boiling Springs has a catch and release area for trout. Walk around the lake there, and you are on the Appalachian Trail.

If you like winter sports, Ski Roundtop is 16 miles away. There are Fourteen covered bridges in Perry County (a few miles North of Kanaga House) making a relaxing one day tour. Click on "Directions & Area Attractions" above for more information.
